IMPORTANT UPDATES REGARDING THE GOVERNMENT CHANGES TO LEGAL AID
On Monday 1 April 2013, the Legal Services Commission will be replaced by the Legal Aid Agency, and the cuts imposed by the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders (LASPO) Act 2012 will take effect.
This will affect some of the services the Law Centre can offer.

Who we are:
We are an independent legal advice service managed by local people and employing professionally qualifed staff. We are a registered charity and have not-for-profit contracts with the Legal Services Commission.
We can provide free advice and representation on these matters:
- Housing
- Family
- Welfare Benefits (reduced services)
- Employment (reduced services)
- Debt (reduced services)
We can provide free basic advice on these matters:
- General Civil Litigation
- Family Law (private)
- Wills and Probate
- Immigration/Asylum
- Personal Injury
- Housing (private)
What we cannot do:
Provide advice on Crime, Motoring, Commercial, Conveyancing (House Purchase)
Give advice to Landlords or Employers, however we can advise you on where to get help.
Outreach Services:
We operate Outreach services from Hounslow Citizens Advice Bureau, Key House (West
Drayton), Bell Farm Christian Centre and other locations in West London. Please telephone
for further information.
Quality Marks:
We hold the Community Legal Services Specialist Quality Mark, (SQM) which is the national accreditation for help with legal problems. We are regulated by the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner and our organisation has met the standards set by the OISC.
