Our Services
All advice is by appointment only: 0208 561 9400
We may be able to provide an interpreter or British Sign Language (BSL) interpreter but appointments must be booked in advance as this may be difficult to arrange at short notice.
Housing
Advice and assistance to tenants in the private and public sector on most legal issues including possession actions, evictions, rent arrears, legal status, security of tenure and disrepair. We also advise individuals on homelessness issues and their rights. We provide full legal representation, where appropriate. We employ two full-time housing solicitors.
Welfare Benefits
We provide advice and assistance to people who are dissatisfied with decisions of the Department for Work and Pensions and Job Centre Plus, for example, decisions relating to claims for income support, Job Seekers' Allowance, Disability Living Allowance, Attendance Allowance, Housing and Council Tax Benefits. We provide representation in appeals before the Unified Appeal Tribunals and the Social Security Commissioners. We also advise and provide representation on Judicial Reviews in the High Court.
Immigration
At present we provide Level 2 Immigration Advice.
Employment
We provide advice and if appropriate, representation at the Employment Tribunal with regard to various employment issues including unfair dismissal, constructive dismissal, breach of contract and discrimination.
Debt
We provide advice and assistance to people with debt problems including bankruptcy, rent arrears, negotiating with creditors and general debt advice. Our Debt Advisor is an associate member of the Institute of Money Advice and an Insolvency Service Authorised Intermediary for Debt Relief Orders. Please contact us for further information.
Asylum Support/Refugee Integration Project
This project aims to help asylum seekers and refugees gain access to services including education, healthcare and social services. The aim of the project is to support the development of skills and confidence necessary for integration into British society. We will be looking to expand the project in the coming years. We offer outreach sessions as part of this project. Please contact us for further information.
Civil Law (Monday evening)
We run an initial basic advice session every Monday evening in partnership with solicitors from local firms, MTG solicitors, Duncan Lewis & Company, Austin & Berns Solicitors and M2M Community Solicitors between 6pm - 8pm. Hillingdon Law Centre cannot take on the case or represent you at court, but we can advise you on who can.
Immigration Advice (Monday Evening)
We run an initial basic advice session every Monday evening in partnership with Duncan Lewis & Company between 6pm and 8pm.
Wills and Probate, Family, Domestic Violence, Civil Law (Friday afternoon)
We run an initial basic advice session every Friday afternoon in partnership with MTG Solicitors from 2pm – 4pm. Hillingdon Law Centre cannot take on the case or represent you at court, but we can advise you on who can.
